Dressing up a Mannequin

He's been a hippie, a botanist, and a Zulu warrior, but I call him "Becky's Boy" because she's the one who is the stylist/costume designer for all these incarnations.

In his purple dress above, he's showing off our birthday crowns....

Half human half butterfly.....

And sporting some rad jewelry in his warrior outfit......This summer we predict he might have a picnic, do some birdwatching, and go to a wedding or at least that's how we're thinking of dressing him up.

The Jungle of Earthly Delights at Passionflower

While I was gone.....

We replenished our supply of butterfly wings....

got a whole slew of mounted

insects

and many more beautiful framed winged creatures......all of which I think inspired Becky

to raid our stash of fun papers and to cut loose with her favorite striped paper (vintage Target) so that she might dress her boy in some butterfly finery......

Could he be more charmant?

She calls him Jungle Boy......and I want to go on a walk with him.....

The weather was mild and we had lots of great local flowers: quince, and plum, and pussywillow and hellebore

Big Yummy - quince in the middle of February.

We stirred up a little creativity.

And dished up some tasty food.

Becky's Boy Wears Potluck Paris Jewelry

According to Becky, it all came together when she pulled this Potluck Paris necklace out of the jewelry case. All I knew was, she was cutting up an old Two's Company feather placemat, and making a Lone Ranger face mask out of it.

Imagine my delight when this little warrior appeared the next day.

I call him Zulu Warrior.

Our Boy Goes to Oregon Country Fair

Oregon Country Fair happened this past weekend. In homage to the 40th anniversary of this great big hippie fete Becky decked out her guy in appropriate garb.
